After a bit of a break I present the final leg of the tour of my friend Sharon’s lovely home….
The last piece that she shared with me was perhaps my favourite. And – as before – it’s because I love to see the creative ways that people use our Efex Appliques.
This hutch already had some lovely detailing – the carved corners, the pediment along the head and foot, the panelling on the doors — but Sharon felt it was missing that something extra. Using Scroll SC02, she added a more raised detail to the piece, elevating it above the flat-style carvings on the original and complementing the style perfectly. Again…a simple moulding used to great effect.
Here you can see the combination of the original flat carvings with the raised detail provided by the Efex mouldings.

Continuing on from Part 1…my tour continues…
Next up Sharon shared with me what was a simple frame that is now anything but! She has used gilding expertly on the pieces she’s created, but she also stressed how easy it is….so if you’re thinking “I love the look but could never do that” then maybe think again.
This frame uses our R3 Rosette, but with the very bottom of the moulding trimmed off to fit. Remember: Efex mouldings can be trimmed to suit any project using a craft knife or a pair of scissors. Again, a beautiful piece. 
I have to admit I loved the bedroom so have used the frame as a minor player in this photo. You can see the lovely bedhead, with the framed mirror above it mirroring the style of the central rosette on the bedhead. The bedhead rosette – while original on this piece – is identical to our R77 Rosette.
A side table in the bedroom shows off what can be done if you combine the appliqués. Sharon used one of my favourite appliqués – Scroll SC03 – and paired it with one of our most popular Rosettes, R3, for a lovely feature on this table. You’ll notice another of the most gorgeous rubbish bins in NZ nestled under the table! This was achieved with Bow B1 and perfectly highlights one of the most appealing characteristics of Efex — the are flexible, bending to fit a curved surface or even curving around an entire circular edge.

I recently had the privilege of being invited to a new friend’s house to have a look at some of the work she’s done using Efex Appliques in her home. Let’s just say I was blown away!! One of the best parts about this job is seeing the amazing things that people create with our products.
With Sharon’s permission, I’m sharing with you some of the beautiful pieces that she has created over the years. Sharon has been using Efex for quite a few years now, so this was indeed a ‘blast from the past’. Each piece was lovely and fit perfectly into her gorgeous home. Sharon shared four pieces in all and I will add them to this page over the next week — I’d hate to reveal everything all at once!
This first piece is actually two…these black tin vessels have been transformed from simple to sophisticated with a few different Efex styles. While they’re currently being used as some of the world’s fanciest rubbish bins(!), they would be beautiful for displaying flowers or nestled next to the fireplace holding pinecones.
Sharon used Pediment P12N (P15 in the US and Canada) and an older style drop similar to D4. Sometimes a different look is just about using the mouldings in a different way. By turning the P8N pediment ‘upside down’ and using it as a swag, she’s achieved something just a bit different.

This gorgeous table was brought back to life by Alison Gregory from The Little French Provincial Shop, just outside of Canberra.
Using our T10 trim moulding, she has turned this table from old and worn into beautiful and new. We especially love the natural wood tones on the table-top paired with the painted base. This project perfectly demonstrates the versatility of Efex. Because they are flexible, Efex moldings can be used on around round tables, on legs and many other curved and uneven surfaces.

From coastal to French, simple to elaborate, Efex mouldings are incredibly versatile. These images were supplied by our lovely customer Sarah at 4 Ever After Bridal in Invercargill (www.4everafterbridal.com) who transformed her shop’s furniture using carefully selected Efex mouldings and the simple yet striking colour combination of black, white/cream and gold — a perfect fit for a luxe bridal shop.
For the front counter, Sarah used trim T28 – one of our most popular moulds.
This beautiful duchess – with a pre-existing raised design on the sides – was dressed up with leg moulding L1 and pediment moulding P8N – which was very creatively separated into the three pieces you see at the top of the mirror. Any Efex moulding can be trimmed using a pair or scissors or craft knife.
The display cabinet is framed by corner mouldings C45 and topped with scrolls SC7.

This lovely secretary was created using rosette R60 and scrolls SC44 on either side and scrolls SC16 on the under-drawer detail.
